The La Crosse Rifle Club, Inc. is hosting a Junior Service Rifle Team, no experience is necessary. Anyone age 12-18 is welcome to come out and give it a try. We have shooting coaches that will work one-on-one with each child to help them achieve confidence and success. The LRC also has the required shooting equipment (including rifles) to loan out, all you need to pay for is a range fee which includes the ammunition.
We are shooting the National Match Course, which consists of shooting at varying distances and shooting positions. We shoot at 200, 300 and 600 yards. No rests, benches or optical sights, just a shooter, sling and a service rifle with iron sights.
We only have a limited number of openings for new shooters, although everyone is welcome to come out and give it a try, you must pre-register prior to coming out and shooting with us.
We shoot on most Saturday mornings starting at 8:00 am and finishing at noon. It is important to make contact prior to coming out to shoot, for more information contact Mike Stewart at navybluejacket@yahoo.com or 608-799-3539.
