Work Day and High Power Match

On Thursday, June 4, the club will be having a work day to prep for our High Power match this weekend.  Work will begin at 11 am.

Those who are willing to help out can bring the following items to assist with the work:

  • Chainsaw(s)
  • Log splitter
  • Weed trimmers
  • Lawn mower(s)
  • Tractor with pallet forks
  • Cleaning supplies

Target prep, yard work, and housekeeping in the club house will be done.

As a reminder, our club will be hosting practice Friday afternoon, NRA Individual 80 round NMC and NMC 2-Man team 50 round matches on Saturday, and a CMP EIC  leg match on Sunday.  The range will be closed from noon on Friday through completion on Sunday.

Pre-registrations for the matches must be received by noon on Friday, June 5.  Walk-ons will be accepted to capacity until thirty minutes prior to firing.  Instructions on how to register are in the event flier linked under our High Power page.

Many thanks to the volunteers who maintain our range and continue to run our shooting programs.

Shoot straight!

Spring Leagues

Spring is here, and so are shooting activities. In case you haven’t seen our calendar, here’s what’s currently ongoing:

La Crosse Rifle Club is running a summer .22 league starting this week and running through the end of July.  We will meet at the range on Mondays at 6 p.m. and there is a division for rifle and one for pistol.  Targets are engaged at 50 feet and you turn in only those targets you want to count for your league score.  You can turn in as many targets as you wish with the ten highest scores counting toward your league score.  Non-members are welcome to participate.  Cost is $20 for the rifle league and $20 for the pistol league; you can participate in one or both.  Contact Dennis Fater (Professorgun1@gmail.com) for information.

It is not too late to join in for informal high power rifle practice on Thursday nights.  We will practice at 200, 300, and 600 yards starting at 5 p.m. on Thursdays and we will use the electronic scoring targets at all distances.  Duration is 6 weeks and the cost is $30 for members and $60 for non-members.  For more information contact Mike Stewart at navybluejacket@yahoo.com.

Trap is running at 5pm each Wednesday night. Cost is $4 for members and $5 for nonmembers.

April 1 Meeting Cancellation

In order to comply with Wisconsin’s Emergency Order #8 prohibiting mass gatherings of ten or more persons, the Board of Directors has canceled our April 1 general membership meeting.  This will protect the club from any sanctions from the state government. This cancellation includes the Stop the Bleed class, which will be rescheduled at a later date.

To keep the membership informed, details normally shared at the April 1 meeting will be shared in our newsletter in the next couple weeks.

Best regards,

Nathan Fater, Secretary
