November 4th & 5th, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Covered Firing Points or shoot from inside the new building.
Gunsmiths and Competitive Shooters to help with sight in.
Come out and help support the LaCrosse Rifle Club. Our members are active in training and education programs thru gun safety and education classes, the shooting sports and promoting pro-gun legislation and education in Wisconsin.
$5.00 Donation Per Firearm – Includes:
- Targets, Benches, Rests & Ear Plugs.
- Sight In from 50 to 300 Yards.
- Controlled safe environment.
- Qualified Staff to analyze and help.
- Combined knowledge/experience of 200+ years.
For all the reasons below, you should take your gun out and shot it before the big day. Accuracy and point of impact could be affected from year to year. Where you sight in is up to you but it is best to do it early enough so if something needs fixing there is time to get it done.
The first shot thru a perfectly clean/oiled barrel will shoot low.
Different brands/loads/lots of ammo may shoot better groups or different points of impact.
Scopes can go bad; get bumped, screws come loose and springs can weaken.
Wood can warp and crack over time, push on barrel, change point of impact.
For questions, contact us thru the LaCrosse Rifle Club web page.
GOOD LUCK THIS COMING HUNTING SEASON!

A report from Mike Stewart:
We had a very successful trip to Ohio at the National matches, Wisconsin Juniors finished first place in the Six-Man Junior Team Match and also first place in the Junior Two-Man Team Match. Additionally, we had 4 teams place in the top-twenty at the two-man team match. This year’s matches were extremely challenging with the strong winds that you can only experience at Camp Perry (where else do you put on 4 minutes of wind at 300 yards?). In those conditions, watching the kids clean their 2-300 yard targets through my spotting scope is both fascinating and impressive to watch, especially considering they don’t get sighting shots.
Bob Burns had a great time shooting the rattle battle match and he had some of the best scores on the Wisconsin adult team.
If you see Riley, Sam and Bob please congratulate them on their accomplishments.
Next meeting: this Wednesday, August 2nd, 8:00pm.

The Friends of NRA is a non-political entity consisting of many active committees nationwide with more than twenty such committees in Wisconsin, one of which is our local Coulee Region Friends of NRA. Historically the local committee has promoted and hosted a banquet each year, usually in October. Most of the funds generated by the banquet events stay in the state. Several local clubs have benefited from grants awarded by the Friends of NRA. Holmen Rod & Gun Club and the La Crosse Rifle Club have been awarded grants in the past as well as several other clubs in our area within a hundred mile radius.
Recently the local committee has been greatly compromised by job related moves by key members and some who have encountered health problems. We are in need of more help to again promote and host a banquet this year. We are in need of more help.
There is a meeting scheduled with the Wisconsin NRA field representative (Scott Taetsch) at the La Crosse American Legion Post 52 located at 711 6th St. So. at 6:00 PM on June 8th. The purpose of the meeting is to gather new volunteers and to formalize and qualify the charter necessary to promote a fund raising banquet. Please consider joining our ranks for this organizational meeting. Please consider attending the meeting to learn more about our mission and possibly help out.
